Mr. Rutte, the prime minister, will hand over the resignation of the cabinet to the king of this country.
The decision, taken at a cabinet meeting in The Hague, comes at a key moment in the Panded-19 pandemic.
The Netherlands is in quarantine, and ministers are considering even more severe measures to prevent the spread of infection. Rutte will address the reporters shortly later.
