Coddy-19's severe cases may affect the quality of a man's sperm, possibly affecting his fertility, according to a new study published in the magazine Production.
This report offers the first direct evidence so far that the vivid-19 infection affects the quality of male sperm and reproductive potential.
However, experts not included in the study were immediately skeptical about the outcome of the report and sought caution in overlapping research findings.
Must be very careful in interpreting these data. For example, the authors claim that their data shows that “of the Covid-19 infection causes significant damage to the male reproductive function”, but shows only one link”, said Allan Pacey, a professor of Andrology at Chieffield University in the United Kingdom.
Being sick of a virus like the flu can temporarily reduce the number of spermoids (ever to zero) for several weeks or months. This makes it difficult to determine how many of the reductions observed in this study were specific to Covid-19, or simply from being sick”, Dr. Channa Jayasena, a consultant in endocrinology and reproductive Andology at Imperial College London.
Moreover, it is important to note that there is no evidence of the Cavid-19 virus in sperm and that there is no evidence that the virus can be transmitted through” sperm.
Small Study
The study consisted of 150 men without David-19 and 74 others diagnosed with coronarys. Their sperm was analyzed at a 10-day interval, in 60 days.
Compared to healthy men without Coved-19, the study found a significant increase in inflammation in sperm cells belonging to men with Covid-19.
Difference grew with the severity of the disease, the study revealed.
However, it is not surprising that Coddy-19 can influence the male reproductive system.
A Persistent Concern
“Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been an understandable (but theoretical) concern if this coronary can have a harmful effect on the fertility of men infected”, Pacey said.
After examining some 14 studies published on this subject, Allan Pacey concluded that “any measurable effect of the male fertility coronary is perhaps only light and temporary”.
The findings of this study could be due to other factors, such as the use of drugs to treat the virus, which the authors also accepted in the study.
