Cupioxuity falls below the spectre of astrology, like a more specific term of it
The term is rarely used, but more and more is being discussed as an aspect of astrology, explains Tanja M. Bass, PhD, sexologist.
While astrology describes someone who feels little or no attraction to others, zupiosuxity describes someone who wants a sexual relationship despite the lack of attraction.
Thus, it refers to an aspect of assexuality when a person may desire sexual relations but does not experience sexual attraction, Bass explains, writes Cosmopolitan.
It is important to remember that just because someone is identified as an assexual does not mean that they are single. Someone who's identified as a curiosexual is an example of this:
“An assexual person simply feels no sexual attraction, but he may have sexual relations for a multitude of reasons, including the physical satisfaction of sex or the satisfaction of partner/s. ”
In other words, while a cupioxual can taste the actual experience of having sex and would desire a sexual relationship with a partner, they do not become sexually attracted to anyone.
Bass explains that the prefix “cupio” means “the large “ ” (default).
Under the assexual umbrellas are included and the grape-sexuals, who rarely feel sexual attractions, as well as degenerators, who need a strong emotional attachment, in order to feel sexual attraction to someone.
