Novavax is the first effective against the new version of the virus discovered in the United Kingdom, BBC editor Fergus Wash said.
The prime minister there welcomed the good “warning” and said the drug regulator in the United Kingdom will now assess the vaccine in question.
The UK has provided 60 million doses of injections, which will take place in the town of Stocko-on-Tes.
The government there said the doses are expected to be handed over in the second half of this year, if approved for use by the Barnas and Health Products Regulatory Agency.
Great Britain has so far approved three coronary vaccines for emergency use ? one from Oxford University and AstraZeneca, another from Pfizer and BioNTech, and one third from the Moderna drug company.
