There are two main reasons why people tend to spend money on things they don't need. First, they want to feel good about such pleasures, and the second, they want to avoid pain. By buying a new dress or something expensive, like, the new smartphone, we entertain ourselves, distracting it from the real problems of life. Although deep down, we know that we did not need to buy anything, it is impossible to resist pressure to buy.
What is this need to buy more and more
1. You're hoping to be noticed by other people.
Natural resources are limited and from Darwin's theories, people must compete among themselves to work hard for their well-being. Once the basic needs are met, we move on to other desires. This makes it necessary for some to show the wealth or welfare of others by buying more things that are really needed.
2. You're jealous of others who have the most
We always compare ourselves to people around us and most of the time, we do unnecessary purchases just because “has all”, but not that we really need it. We're just too selfish to admit it.
3. I become victims of marketing
There's a lot of cute tricks to make you make a purchase, so you have to be careful!
4. You feel that you are not in control of your life
Feeling this way, you feel that possessing material things will make you feel more secure. That's true just buying basics.
5. You're upset.
The common reason people buy new things is frustration. When we have nothing else to do, or a certain purpose, we just do something to change the day with the house so we'll be happier.
