In this municipality 27 citizens have so far lost their lives from Corleone, as many as 40 cases are active with this virus.
In Rahovec until June 30th in all sectors, some 36m euros have been lost, and if this trend continues to face pandemic, the damage in all sectors from the pandemic totals about 60m euros.
Rahovec's chairman, Smajl Latifi, has said in an interview for Kosova Preress that despite the serious situation by Covid-19, during this period no activities have been interrupted as far as commitment to the realisation of capital projects is concerned.
Mayor Latifi says Pandemia is managing it with full responsibility, as well as the list of capital projects have been high priority and public investment projects that are aimed at facilitating the lives of citizens, as well as boosting the socio-economic welfare of citizens in Rahovec.
The Rahovec municipality has never interrupted activities against the fact that we have faced pandemic, which continues to be present in our municipality. We have 116 cases healed, we have 40 active cases, and 27 cases of fatality, as a result of confirmation with Coddy-19. We, apart from facing pandemic, have tried to manage it better and more responsibly. We have taken concrete action and steps to increase public health care. We've taken action on daily disinfection of health facilities, mobilised health staff with full capacity. We have even included in special medical services and nurses who perform services even during the time of meeting with David-19... We are careful to increase mask supply levels, protective equipment, toilet material, and then essential drugs. Now we also stay on supplies and medications”, Latif stressed.
Now when this municipality has entered the grape harvest pop, Mayor Latifi says that a serious situation has been created for grape farmers and vertebrates, since the pandemic has seriously damaged them.
He says a direct support is needed for grape farmers and basements, where it is required that through the Association of Communists, the Ministry of Agriculture and Government to change with an emergency policy of the involvement of farmers in real estate for grape collection opportunities from farmers.
Because of the state with pandemic and the lack of markets or plastic of our products in local markets and international markets. Gastronomia has severe limitations today. This year there have been no weddings, a small number of exiles, so all of these have affected or caused them to limit the possibilities of producers. In this case, grapes processors as well as farmers. We've had ongoing problems this year when we're in the grape harvest season... This year there are also problems with the verotors, grape makers, wine cellars, which have large stocks, because they have not been able to make contracts or have the positive impact that they have in the past years because of coping with the pandemic”, Latif states.
For the agriculture sector, which is a major pillar for Rahovecin, the first of this municipality is saying that farmers who were damaged by natural disasters have not yet been compensated.
He is also asking the Ministry of Agriculture to execute means for compensation of damages in agriculture, as well as grants and subsidies.
“There is a Kosovo government decision to compensate farmers for the damages that have occurred and damaged our farmer, our farmer. Under the government's decision issued in May, 25 per cent of the damage caused is compensated or compensated by the Ministry of Agriculture reserve Fund, which is dedicated to natural disasters. We have drafted the report and fully agreed with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance, where we have respected all the demands and execution of payments not to be delayed. So it has to happen immediately. However, on the basis of the government's decision, all municipalities must bring their reports, while not all municipalities I have submitted reports like us. So now our farmers are hostage to the lack of responsibility of two municipalities that have not yet completed the reports. We have asked Minister Mustafa not to be held hostage by a responsible municipality and to delay the execution of payments... Our largest beneficiary committee of the Fund for damages of approximately 660 thousand euros. Farmers urgently expect the execution of payment for compensation”, he says.
As for public investments, Latifi has mentioned several projects that are being implemented with an added dynamic. He also said that environmental protection investments are being made.
We are currently waiting for the new facility of the main Family Medicine Centre. We're working on the four lane route from Rahovec to Xrxe, we're building new school objects, new nesting facilities. Then we're working on sewage treatment, field roads. We're investing in increased infrastructure capacities in the primary health sector in Rahovec, in Qifllak, then in Opterush, and we've built new sports grounds. We're waiting for the contract to be connected to innovative parks. We're also investing in walking paths, making investments in preservation of cultural historical heritage... We have also started investments in the economic zone”, Latifi declares.
He has also said that we are successfully completing an investment cycle in school infrastructure and nursery.
Latif has also mentioned the new facility of the school “Bayram Curri” in Krusha, which is an investment by the Ministry of Education.
“We are building primary school “The Kosovo Hires” in Hoça Minor and Brestoc are two settlements. New primary school target “Haki Stermill in the village of Reti, as well as new object of primary school “Liria” in Forte. Building new school “Milamim Krasniqi” in Kaznik. And we're also building the children's nest in Great Krusha, the children's nest in Xrxe and the children's nursery in Ratkoc. As are on the verge of inauguration, the arrival of children in the city - a new, modern, and appropriate object - is just on the verge of inauguration. We're also at the top of the school “Abedin Hajra” in Rahovec. We are closing the cycle of construction or school infrastructure and children's nests, which is also based on pre-election vows that I gave before I was mayor. All these items are expected to end several years this year and some next year”, he stressed.
Mayor Smajl Latifi has announced the start of the new school year on September 14th, and ensures that he will not start teaching without ensuring that all measures, steps and actions are taken that the risk of spreading the Corona virus to schools are minimal.
The Rahovec municipality this year, in addition to farm subsidies, has also shared subsidies for youth culture and sports. This year's basketball club has had no activity and no other sports club. However, the municipality has allocated subsidies on the basis of budgetary opportunities has been earmarked 22 thousand euros for this year for Rahovec's GDP, while in the past year it was earmarked by 400,000 euros.
This municipality has seen 154 scholarships per student share from 50 euros this year, where for the first time this municipality increases the number from 95 to 154 scholarship students.
