Moved by her agent, her name had agreed to participate in this unpaid shoot for a magazine she had never heard of, to make a name in the industry, and to meet field professionals, a common practice, especially for developing models.

After dining with the make-up artist employed for the shooting, Leder started shooting some photo-pollaroid of Ratajowski in the interior, but not satisfied with the result, and after a few glasses of wine, they continued with the nudo photos.

I've taken photos of nudo before, always from men. I have been told by many photographers and agents that my body was one of the things that made me stand out among my colleagues. My body felt like superpowers. I was naked, fearless, and proud. ”

A few months later, a small selection of photographs fired that evening was published in that magazine.

Just a few years later, contacted by various journalists on the phone, learned that Leder was ready to publish a photo book called “Emily Ratajkovski”, which contained unpublished images of that evening, more vulgar and experienced. The legal actions taken by her names and lawyers were useless, despite evidence that the contract signed by her model and agent clearly stated that the images were aimed at using the magazine alone in question and nothing else.

Although the exhibition dedicated to images of the book was attacked the day it opened in New York, Leder used other photos from that evening for two other books.

Over the past few years, Ratajkowski has achieved a new prominent position in the American cultural debate, defending women's rights during the Women's March or openly attacking Harvey Weinstein.

In this writing, she not only confessed to the harassment claimed by Leder, but above all, there is a deeper reflection on her identity as a woman, used to show her body in the photograph, but in no way protected in the use taken to those photos, especially without her consent.

In comments under the post of New York Mag, as well as those under @ names, there are many who argue that basically Emily is making a lot of noise for nothing, when she's the first one posting pictures from the inside or naked in her profile in the Instagram, but that's the point of the matter: it's Ratajkouki himself deciding what to publish, what to tell, when and who, at least in terms of its platforms.

The release of her intimate photos, the publication without her consent of some books that portray her naked, creating an art work that begins from an image of her, all are violations of privacy, the continued embezzlement of her body, which, although now famous and desired, remains her and only hers.
