In the report drafted by the Group for Legal and Political Studies, it warns that the future of Kosovo-Serbia talks remains unclear, especially because of the involvement of many sides in the process.

In the report, titled “International Competition and Geopolitical inclusion in the structure of re-launching Kosovo-Serbia”, notes that the inclusion of the United States and the European Union in the talks is essential, though according to the report has been conveyed with different contradictions.

One of the editors of the report, Arber Fetah, speaks of the interventions of China and Russia in the process of Kosovo-Serbia talks.

China's “Role in the dialogue is more of an economic part and the involvement and support of the Russian power on Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, seeing that China has problems in its territory with separatist regions, on the other side of Russia's narativi is the same, has a support of Serbia for not recognising Kosovo by preserving Serbia's unitary character, as it claims. We can also say that Russian policy in Kosovo- Serbia is the one to remain a kind of status quo and remain as things are going in interest even in its internal issues, such as the issue with the Crimea, and by keeping or removing Western influence over Serbia”, he said.

Fetah says talks between Kosovo and Serbia should have a well-formed strategy and basic principles for Kosovo's road, as well as a greater involvement of the European Union in the process.

“After that position in Kosovo- Serbia has noted decline in recent years, and particularly its image in the Balkan states has marked a decline because there has been no kind of good distribution of achievements. The report generally concludes that Kosovo and Serbia have to deal with a mutual recognition and geopolitical influences Kosovo must be attributed or thus assume that it composes a position that is in its best interests and removes the destructive elements”, he said.

He says Kosovo should be cautious of elements such as the issue of exchange of territories or the addition of Russian influence in the negotiation process.

Mr. Fetah says Kosovo should be founded in the relaxed talks by the European Union and with a support from the United States of America.

What we think is that Kosovo should aspire anything or nothing. Everything in the sense that we don't say we should negotiate anything technical but any highway, for any bilateral agreement, because they can be handled when mutual recognition is reached between the two states. Everything we think must be the recognition first, should be war crimes, missing persons, the integration of Serbs into Kosovo institutions and the integration of the north as a whole. Without these five points of dialogue I can go into endlessly and his future may be very suspicious until we have mutual recognition”, says Mr. Fetah.

Last week, Kosovo and Serbia agreed to the White House on normalising economic relations between them. The two countries are now involved in facilitated talks by the European Union on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

The current process of talks has already been criticised by civil society organisations in Kosovo through a bilateral platform for the talks.

Through a communique, civil society has criticised the government for lack of transparency of parliament and with superficial reporting, and according to them, lack of information about the process has caused uncertainty and uncertainty among citizens about the expected results of this process.
