The Great Pyramids, the main destination for tourists in Egypt, are the only survivors of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and the Plato is under the protection of Isco.
The highways are part of the infrastructure drive, a project protected by President Abdel Fatah al-Assi, which is building a new capital to reduce population pressure in Cairo, housing nearly 20 million people.
The northern highway will pass through desert 1.6 miles south of the Great Pyramids. The southern highway will be passed between the Szakshira Pyramid and the oldest pyramid of Dahshur area, where the Pyramid Bent and Red are located, writes Guardian, translate Periscope.
Each of the highways is expected to be eight lanes wide. Their construction began about a year and a half ago.
Critics say this construction could cause enormous damage to one of the most important countries of world cultural heritage. /Periscope
