Released by veteran of KLA banned by Albanian police

Today's morning, Albania's police, under Serbia's arrest warrants handed down in INTERPOL, had detained former KLA fighter Murtez Kastrat.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Melisa Haradinaj-Subla, has announced that Albania's authorities have released former KLA fighter Murtez Kastrati, who was detained by police following a request Serbia has submitted to INTERPO.

Upon reading the announcement by Mr. Enter Gucati, about the detention of former Kosovo Liberation Army fighter, Mr. Murtez Kastrat, I have immediately contacted Albanian counterpart Mr. Gent Cakaj, who has acted quickly and clarified that Mr. Kastrat was detained for verification and release two hours ago.

It is unacceptable how Serbia pretends internationally for whether construction towards Kosovo, as soon as the doors of the so-called dialogue are closed, illegal actions against Kosovo continue.

Serbia's demands through INTERPOL must be updated by Albania's authority, and reflect Kosovo's political and legal reality. We will be engaged together with war-free organisations right away the Government, MPJD and MPB of the Republic of Kosovo, respectively, to make available to the authorities of Albania, the lists of Kosovo Liberation Army veterans.

In close co-operation with counterpart Cakaj, we will act in harmony with our legal and national competencies, so as not to allow the shame and torture of Albanians before such illegal and illegal demands of Serbia.
