After the recent events where the Serbian gendarmerie entered Karacheva in Kamenica several times, KFOR and Kosovo Police have decided to realise joint patrols.
KFOR has made this news known through a media communiqué.
This is the complete communique:
KFOR Regional Command East began today to plan joint operational activities in the Kamenica area with the Border Police.
Today's planning session followed the high-level technical summit held yesterday at the Kosovo Police Headquarters between the chief of operations of the NATO-led KFOR mission and the Kosovo Police Director, along with other officials.
In that case, the two sides expressed mutual satisfaction with the level of co-operation developed so far in the area of security and committed themselves to further strengthening it through an improved weekly mechanism that will allow an increase of joint Kosovo Police and KFOR patrols in the area of Kamenica.
KFOR remains committed to continue to contribute impartially to a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens in Kosovo, in close co-operation with local institutions and security organisations and the International Community, according to its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
