Cardi B's last song, in collaboration with Meghan Thee Stallion, “WAP”, in addition to causing people to jump, also prompted a Twitter reaction regarding Kylie Jenner's presence in one part of the song. Some described it as unnecessary, others linked it to the fact that the Kardashian-Jenner family has been accused of cultural embezzlement, while others said it destroyed video magic. Cardi B decided to respond to the charges in a series of tweets, posts which are already behind, but have been preserved from the page for celebrities, @PopCrets.
A user compared Kylie's appearance to that of Norman. “Norman did all that [dancing], while Kylie walked into the hall and opened the door,” wrote @DanilleYung. “If this isn't a perfect visual indicator of how colored women need to do so much while others do their minimum to get somewhere, I don't know what else is”.
Cardi said: “Norman is one of the best artists and she dances cool. Why would she open the door? Please tell me what this means. The best part of the song is beat that makes you shake. ”
In another post, Cardi stressed that “not everything is for race”. In another post, he said: “Why did I put Kylie in the video? She treated my sister and daughter well at her daughter's birthday party. Travis and Set [Offset, Cardi B's husband] are good friends, and Chris Jenner has given me some advice on things I asked her and her partner has a good relationship with my husband. ”
In the video, Cardi chose to have such names as Rosalía, Ruby Rose, Sukihana and Mulatto, except for Norman and Kyle Jenner.
I wanted different women, not just rappers. I wanted different people for the clip, from models to influencers. I really wanted the video to be sexy, clean, and nice. All girls have different things I like. That's why I chose diversity.
