According to figures from the Albanian Institute of Statistics, 1703 residents of this country have residence permits in Albania, marking an increase of 20.1% compared to 2018. The first country for the number of resident residents with residence permits in Albania keeps Italy with 2753 people, followed by Turkey with 1730 people.
Kosovo-born foreigners are led by reasons for family union (45.4%), so 773 Kosovo residents have married girls from Albania and applied for family union in 2019.
At the end of 2019, the total number of foreigners with residence permits in Albania resulted in 13.507 inhabitants, falling by 4.6% compared to 2018. The number of foreigners in 2019 is dominated by men with 63.0% versus women by 37.0%.
In 2019 it results in 6,557 asylum seekers in Albania, increasing by 49.5% compared to 2018. Asylum seekers originally from Iraq and Syria occupy 62.4% of asylum seekers in a total in 2019 and result in 2.408 asylum seekers from Iraq and 1,682 asylum seekers from Syria. In 2019 it results in 485 people who have gained Albanian citizenship, undergoing growth of 40,6% compared to 2018.
