American defense officials against Trump: There is no evidence that there was an organized attack in Beirut

Three US Department of Defence officials told CNN there was no indication that the massive explosion that shocked Beirut on Tuesday was a “attack”, rejecting an earlier claim by President Donald Trump.

While speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump offered American help to Lebanon's people after the explosion, which left hundreds of dead and thousands injured until the explosion was referred to as a terrible “attack”.

About 2,750 tonnes of ammooni tonnes stored at a warehouse at the Port of Beirut erupted on Tuesday, causing destruction throughout the Lebanese capital. Since Tuesday evening, at least 100 people were reportedly killed and four thousand injured broadcast Telegragraphy.

“Let me start by sending the deepest condolences to people in Lebanon, where reports show that many, many people were killed, hundreds more were injured in a major attack on Beirut”, Trump said.

But defence officials, who refused to identify themselves so that they could speak freely, said they did not know what the president was talking about.
