A promising test of antibodies, with accuracy of 98.86 percent that was undergoing government tests in Great Britain, has passed the first phase with promising results Saturday.
The test offered accuracy of 98.6 percent in identifying antibodies, according to the Daily Telegraph, broadcasts news.net.
British leaders are now planning to distribute millions of such free tests, dubbed AbC-19, which were conducted by Oxford University in partnership with diagnostic firms in the United Kingdom.
Tests of antibodies currently approved in the United Kingdom include a long wait for blood samples in the laboratory. But the results of this test, according to the Daily Telegraph, are available in 20 minutes.
However, experts have repeatedly warned that there is no strong evidence that positive testing for antibodies means that a person is immune to the virus.
