He publicly expressed support for Willan when he avoided the fall by Premier League.
Speaking for “BBC”, Prince William said: “Only in the last few years have I really looked at Willan as my team. I've been watching them a lot. I look at the statistics and I follow them every week.

It was the first game at the FA Cup I went to. It was a fight between Willla and Bolton, and I remember myself standing in a tribune.
I must have been 11 or 12-year-old and gone with a lot of friends. I stood among all the Willa fans and liked it. I thought the atmosphere was extraordinary.
At the time, I didn't want to support Chelsea or Manchester United as anyone at school.
I had the idea that Villa had real history, winning European Cups and stuff. I felt really connected to this club more than some others. The villa looked like a very proud and unique club.” /Periscope. com/
