Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, with the European Union's mediation, will resume on 12 July.

European Union spokesman Peter Stano has confirmed on Monday that Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, will meet in the new round of talks.

Meanwhile, the AFP news agency reports that France's President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will hold a summit Friday, July 10th, with representatives of Kosovo and Serbia.

This summit, which will be developed through a video connection, aims to reduce tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, President Macron's Office said.

It is still not clear who will represent Kosovo at this summit, Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti or President Hashim Thaci.

Holding this Paris summit and dialogue in Brussels comes after the postponement of a meeting between Kosovo and Serbia at the White House on 27 June.

This meeting was postponed after on 24 June, the Special Prosecutor's Office announced it has sent Kosovo's specialised Chambers to The Hague, an indictment of ten points for review, in which Thaci, chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, and others are charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Dialogue, with the European Union's mediation, started in 2011. The process was halted in late 2018, due to a tax imposed by Kosovo authorities on Serbia's goods. This move was then replaced with reciprocity.

But, the Kosovo government in June decided to lift reciprocity measures in order to give it a chance to restart dialogue.

The White House, on October 4th, 2019, appointed Richard Green as its special representative for the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
