Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Melza Haradinaj- Stublla has been addressed through a letter to Apple Executive Director Tim Cook, officially asking him to include Kosovo on the Apple map.
As the minister himself has indicated, with such a letter she has been addressed to Apple on July 23rd, where she has asked for the quick undertaking of steps to correctly present Kosovo with the internationally accepted borders of the AppleMaps service.
In her letter, Haradinaj-Stubla cited the fact that Kosovo's independence at its borders is recognised by over two-thirds of the world's countries, including countries like the US, Great Britain, Japan, Germany, France, Canada,... as well as membership in prestigious world institutions like the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and not only.
On July 22, 2010, the International Court of Justice, in an advisory opinion, came to the conclusion that Kosovo's February 17th 2008 declaration of independence had not violated international law”, wrote Haradinaj-Sublla, recalling also the fact that platforms such as Lincoln, Twitter, Facebook and Spotifi have updated their platforms by introducing the Republic of Kosovo as an independent country.
