At Gjakova Hospital four patients with COVID-19 with oxygen therapy

At the Gjakova General Hospital “isa Grezda” currently have eight patients who have tested positive with COVID-19, with four of them on oxygen therapy.

The director of this hospital, Hilmi Shala, has confirmed that there are three other people waiting for the outcome.

He also said that the situation of other patients with COVID19 who are lying at the Gjakova hospital is generally stable.

We currently have 11 hospitalized patients... Eight are positive, four are with oxygen in general, the situation is good and stable... it's probably going to be done today to those who are waiting... I believe there are three”, Shala said.

Shala said the Gjakova General Hospital for dealing with people infected with COVID19 has 30 beds available.

The director of this hospital says that they also have medical and protective equipment to treat these patients.

We have 30 beds in the Infective Department along with Dermatology that are prepared to treat patients with COVID... samples are received here at the Institute in Pristina... we have the capacity to deal with this number of patients right now, but if the growing flow continues then the difficulties we may have later. At the moment it's good, the equipment that serves us to fight COVID we have”, the director of Gjakova General Hospital stressed.

But the director of Gjakova General Hospital, Hilmi Shala, sees pandemic management more problematic if we have an increase in positive cases with COVID19.

If this flow of patients continues, then this pace in Kosovo will be a problem in all of Kosovo, not only in Gjakova, this pace of positive results tests will cause us problems”, he said.

Shala stressed that other medical services are being performed in this hospital as patients are needed.

Only on yesterday in positive Kosovo with COVID19 have 79 people resulted, while 71 have resulted in recovery. However, it is still 1250 people who are active in coronary activity.
