China says America asked for the consulate's closure, warns revenge

China has said that the United States has told the consulate on July 21st to cut off all jobs and events, and that Beijing has threatened revenge if the decision does not withdraw.
“Kina strongly condemns such a cruel and unwarranted move, which will sabotage relations between China and the United States,” has said Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country Wang Wenbin before journalists today.

The US has said it was ordered to close the consulate to protect American intellectual ownership and private American data. However, no additional details were offered.
The United States will not tolerate the violations of China against our sovereignty and the instigation of our population, just as we have not tolerated its unfair trade practices, the theft of American jobs and other scandalous behaviour,” said in the State Department statement.
