Health Minister Armenmen Zemaj said today that under the Government's work plan, the main priority remains the fight of the Covid-19 pandemic, along with other objectives, and in the function of this goal, he asked institutions to continue with intensive activities in managing the situation, at a time when in many surrounding states, but in Kosovo, new cases of infection are being recorded by Covid-19 and there are numbers considered active cases.
In order to assess, co-ordination and maintain consistent communication with government institutions responsible for assessing the epidemic situation with Covis-19, the minister chaired a meeting of the Committee for Management the Individual Independent-19, where, in addition to reporting from all institutions, he was asked to continue with implementing the activities of the Plan of Willing Action and Response to Ovid 19 by adopting a suitable approach to the circumstances.
“Today we are in a different situation, that of implementing the third phase of the gradual economic opening, which requires re-evaluation of some of the activities they expect to be released. This phase, as noted, carries the risk of further spread of the virus, following a relatively positive period when cases with COVID-19 had almost fallen to the lowest level of”, Zemaj said.
He stressed that the decline in discipline in implementing measures in the last three days has been translated into 105 new cases of COVID-19 in Kosovo, which requires monitoring and supervisory institutions to implement measures of the Government (Kosovo Police and Central and Municipal Inspectorate) to be as present with inspections in allowed activities as possible.
Stressing the fact that the MS is in the process of preparing the manual with instructions for allowed activities, Zemaj said that re-evaluation and decision to open other activities such as airports, borders, parties, rehabilitation toilets, fairs, swimming pools, nightclubs, etc. should be accompanied by measures based on indicators where the main contribution should be made, so that each decision is made, sustainable and in line with the epidemic.
Kosovo Prime Minister Widar Berisha's health adviser, said the Kosovo prime minister's office gives full support to the Committee to continue with its activities, until it will also empower it through counseling troops, while through the governing programme, human support and monitoring of manual implementation for the activities released in the context of economic opening and opening.
At this meeting, Committee representatives have reported on activities undertaken at the level of institutions and mechanisms they represent, until it requires that citizens continue to respect protective measures such as wearing masks, physical distance, and maintaining personal and collective hygiene.
