The official request signed by MPs from this party came several days after PDK chairman Kadri Wessel's warnings of beginning a series of parliamentary initiatives in the Kosovo Assembly.
In the statement filed in the Assembly, PDK's preliminary deputies reportedly stress the great need for the development of this investigation, especially when it comes to the fact that the privatisation process in Kosovo is one of the most important economic developments, and also more controversial in public opinion, for nearly two decades.
So far, in some cases the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, along its legislative mandates, has discussed whether through parliamentary debate on the privatisation process as a whole or whether it is the privatisations of specific companies. However, he has not taken responsibility for the establishment and development of a parliamentary investigation that would shed light on known truths to Kosovo citizens regarding some of the key developments.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo considers that this possible parliamentary investigation is not against the privatisation process or the citizens, entrepreneurs and businesses that have privatised legally and fairly, contributing to the country's economic development.
As part of the centre-right party, The PDK supports this process and believes privatisation and free market economy are the only way to boost the country's improved citizens' economy.
Therefore, the privatisation process must be clarified in the depths and remove the unreasonable stain imposed on it by the ideological attacks on the left. For this process, initiated in 2001, it has been abused and politically spoken by people who have abused the most.
