At the border checkpoint at Vermica maunat with goods are not allowed to enter Kosovo without being subjected to deinfectation procedures, the cost of which is 22 euros. Business executives and owners are opposing this measure.
The owner of “Trust Comerc”, Besim Gashi, says that this kind of fee for polluting trucks has been announced this morning.
According to him, the amount of 22 euros for disinfecting a truck is unaffordable for his company so it won't pay.
Gashi also casts doubts on this company, which is carrying out its disinfectation, as it says they are not evensuing fiscal vouchers, but just some kind of paragon.
“Pass received a news report that issued in the morning a so-called disinfection of 22 and a half euros for our firm is unacceptable and not just for our firm, but for all carriers and all other firms it is unaffordable... From the point of this how it came to be, we don't know how it came from, we're not confirmed by which the minister or government... we haven't been notified before we have absolutely no decision... to give the do-do without a number of rent”, he said.
The leader of a truck, Tasin Uruqi, who is using Kosovo's border only as a transitor towards Macedonia, says without warning, the application of such a fee has been launched.
There have been two companies who have been confused among themselves, one asking for 22 euros another 10 euros to disinfect the truck, left me a truck with a pump spraying tomatoes... 22 euros here plus 27 that our friends told us we are for Macedonia on the transit for Kosovo... dropping 49 euros for the entrance here... without even warning how to explain the”, he stressed.
Even Elmi Prestreshi expressed disgruntled expressions with the establishment of this measure for disinfecting the mauines at the border point in Vllmica. He even values this as a business plunder.
“They've been taking 22 euros to disinfect trucks. It was the pandemic that we haven't disinfected three months and today they're on the way to disinfecting 22 euros, we didn't even know at 12 of the night, the government said it showed the”, he said.
Kosovo tried to get a response from employees who were performing the disinfectation service, but the same refused to speak.
From Kosovo Customs and the Food and Veterinary Agency, they said they are not responsible for the application of this measure, while the Health Ministry is suggested to be contacted. However, receiving an explanation from this dictatorship has been impossible Monday morning.
We remember that today on June 1st Kosovo has opened its land borders, which were closed on March 13th as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.
