Montenegro sues Archbishop of Serbian Orthodox Church

Ulcinj police, through an announcement, indicated that on Thursday they filed a criminal indictment against the archbishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, Amfilohije Radovic. Police announcement notes that the move has been made “due to criminal work, the construction of a religious object without registration and with no relevant construction documentation, which was made near a monastery in the village of Zogaj in Ulcinj. ”
On Wednesday, inspectors demolished the provision built without permission, which, according to Montenegro's Tourism Ministry, has been built in opposition to Montenegro's space planning law.
The escalation of tensions between the government and the Serbian Orthodox Church, which early this year, continues in Montenegro, but also during the time of the pandemic, organised anti-religious law protests adopted by the Montenegrin Parliament.
