According to one study, sperm quality is declining annually, while experts fear that modern life destroys male fertility. Fertility clinics have found that the mobility of spermoids or spermatoids in male samples has dropped by 1.8 %s annually.
Meanwhile, another study revealed that male fertility is on the decline in five out of six American cities. Its authors say the findings may be a warning to public health and that fast foods, lack of training and pollution promote the problem.
Last year, experts warned that human species could face extinction, as it turned out that the average sperm level in Western countries was more than halved in one generation.
Researchers led by Medical College “Siddney Kimmel” in Philadelphia and the fertility clinic I V IMMA monitored almost 120,000 men seeking treatment for fertility problems in Spain and the US from 2002 to 2017.
The men were placed in three groups based on the millions of spermoids “notists” in their sperm monsters. The measurement of the others is seen as the best way to assess fertility than the total number of spermoids. Among American males in the most fertile group, which had more than 15 million sperms in motion, the number was reduced by 1.8 %s per year of study.
Between 2002 and 2005, 84.7 of the males were in the most fertile group, but that dropped to 79.1 % between 2014 and 2017. At the same time, the percentage of men who managed to fertilize fewer eggs increased.
