Miroslav Lajcak, the EU's special envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, will stay in Belgrade on a two-day visit after the general elections in Serbia on Sunday, Serbian news agency “Fonet” has reported.
Lajcak, who will stay in Belgrade on 22 June and 23 June, will meet Serbia's top officials to discuss further steps and modalisations for the resumption of talks that have been halted since November 2018.
The EU envoy stayed in Kosovo for three days, where he met with Albanian and Serbian representatives. He said conditions for continuing dialogue have been created.
Lajcak also spoke of the Kosovo agreement, Serbia, adding there would be normalisation of relations, but remained silent over questions of mutual recognition.
Lajcak's visit to Serbia comes after national elections there and shortly before the visit of political leaders to Serbia to the US, where they will meet with the Kosovo delegation for Kosovo dialogue Serbia.
