An American youth from North Carolina who moved to Mexico to realize his dream of playing soccer was shot dead by the police after being involved with a criminal.
The 16-year-old boy named Alexander Martínez Gómez was standing in front of a bar with his friends to buy a drink. In the middle of the crowd was a criminal being pursued by police. One of the policemen confused the criminal with the boy and shot him in the head.
Acatalán de Pérez Figueroa's government said in a statement that the police officer is under arrest for the crime he has committed.
The mother of the boy Virginia Gómez distributed a video on social networks showing that her son was with three friends in front of a bar to buy a drink, and after being shot in the head, police did not give him the first aid at the scene.
Martínez Gómez moved to Mexico to pursue his goal of being a professional football player.
