Haxhi 2020 Cancelation, Kosovo's Islamic Community details

Through a report on the official Facebook page, the Islamic Community of Kosovo has announced that Saudi authorities have decided that Haxhi will be carried out only by persons within Saudi Arabia's territory this year.

Statement by Kosovo's Islamic Community Chief on Haxhin 2020

The head of the Islamic Community of Kosovo (BIK), reports the broad opinion in Kosovo that due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the risk this virus carries on itself, the Saudi Ministry of Haxhi and Umres, has made a decision to annul Haxhi for 2020.
Given that the number of dead persons has reached half a million, while the number of infected has reached more than 7 million people, Saudi authorities have decided that Haxhi would be carried out only by persons within the territory of Saudi Arabia.
Respecting the recommendations and clarifications of health institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but in most countries of the world, regarding the continuing risks stemming from this pandemic, the lack of a available vaccine and a cure for the infected, the Saudi Ministry of Haxhi and Umres, has announced that it has made this decision to maintain public health safety.
In this announcement by Saudi authorities, this year, the ritual of Hagi will be performed only by people who occurred within Saudi Arabia's territory and not by other countries. Also, this decision is said to have been deemed necessary to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Starting with this announcement, the Islamic Community of Kosovo laments to announce to all Kosovo citizens that the Haxhi Directorate will not carry out any procedure regarding Haxhi's conduct this year, respecting the decision of the Saudi Ministry of Haxhi and Umres.
