Even on the eve of a career collapse, Engel does not forget Kosovo: Satisfied with unlocking funds from MCC

The chairman of the US Foreign Affairs Commission at the Chamber of Representatives, Eliot Engel, has reacted after unlocking funds for Kosovo from the Milenium Challenge Corporation.

Through a Twitter response, Eliot Engel has said he is pleased that Millennium Challenges Funds have been unblocked for Kosovo, and that they should not be suspended at all.

I am pleased that the Milenium Challenge Corporation has restored funds for Kosovo. They shouldn't have suspended at all. Kosovo has met the difficult Milenium challenges standards. Cutting off these funds to force it hard to change their policies was contrary to what the Milenium Challenge Corporation represents, Engel said.

On the other hand, Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has welcomed the United States Government's decision to reactivate the Milenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) programme in Kosovo.

The government of the Republic of Kosovo welcomes the unlocking of funds for Kosovo by Milenium Challenge Corporation (MCC), following our decision to lift the reciprocity measure against Serbia as a sign of our will to give dialogue space”, Prime Minister Hoti stressed.

In this case, Prime Minister Hoti confirmed the gratitude of the Government and the people of Kosovo for the continued support of the American government for our country.

We remember that Mr. Engel is facing a difficult challenger in the preliminary race to win the seat in Congress. He had recently been shot without knowing it, saying he didn't do anything for protesters in the United States unless it was for his election race. This caused a serious scandal in his district in New York.
