Infrastructure Minister Arba Abrashi with accomplices, as well as Vushtrri municipality chairman Xhafer Tahiri, have visited the works today, which are continuing to expand the national M2 Pristina-Mitrovica road, the Gojbula-Smreconica segment, respectively.
In this case, Minister Abrashi confirmed that road opening creates new jobs and strengthens economic development.
According to him, obligations to landowners from the Great River to Gojbulla have been distributed to owners and work in record time is expected.
He warned the launch of procedures also for the remaining Smreconica-Mitrovica segment, which he said would also be conducted in record time.
A good news for the next segment as well as for all residents of this area is that the contractual part of the state's obligations to the landowners from the Great River to Goybula have already been distributed to the owners, we expect the start of jobs in record-time even for that part, and rather concludes a huge segment of this national route. We'll start procedures even for the remaining Smreconica segment - Mitrovica also in record time, in order to complete this project, which unfortunately little has dragged on for many years”, Abrashi said.
Meanwhile, Vushtrri municipality chairman Xhafer Tahiri stressed that completion of the works on this segment, in addition to cutting the time of movement for citizens, will bring development for Vushtrri, Mitrovica, but also for Kosovo as well.
“I have full confidence in the Minister Abrashi that will give even greater dynamics, especially the segment from the Great River to Gojbula, so that Vushtrria, but also Mitrovica will cut the time of movement of citizens, goods and economics, and this shorter time will certainly bring development for Vushtre, Mitrovica and all of Kosovo” said Tahiri.
On the other hand, Ilir Trebicka, representative of the contracting company, has announced that the work will be completed by the end of September, though, as he put it, the Vetvi situation may bring change.
“We hope that by the end of September we will achieve the work, it is understood that things will work out as we are today, but the Covid situation can bring about additional changes”, Trebicka said.
Otherwise, these works are being carried out by borrowing from the Saudi development fund, which costs about 14m euros and moneyworks to be completed by September of this year.
