In a social networking article, Wessel says that the street bearing the name of Luan Haradinaj reminds him of the joint trips they made through Tropoj.
On the other hand, Wessel also related the moments when news of the Lion's murder was reached.

23 years ago, Luan Haradinaj, one of the first fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army, fell into the battlefield. The road that bears his name reminds me of the difficult roads I've made with him when we left Tropoja, and we crossed the border near the Bird's Root to get to Jablanice. The news of his murder shocked all of us, and I still remember him today in pain.
The route that The Lion chose was the noble course of war for freedom that has made possible the days of independence that we enjoy today. The sacrifice of his subliance and of many other heroes should serve as a source of inspiration for all future generations, who should not receive good freedom. Unforgettened be the memory of the Lion and all other lions of the Kosovo Liberation Army who, with the shed blood, wrote the finest chapter of contemporary history of the Albanian nation.
