“Today we remember the two American pilots fallen 21 years ago during the 78-day bombing campaign that NATO launched to come to the aid of our people.
Pilot David A. Gibbs and Kevin L. Reichert, lost life on a mission near the Kosovo border by falling martyrs to the Atlantic alliance in the struggle for Kosovo's liberation. The Albanian nation will forever honour these heroes and be forever grateful for the support the United States of America has given us to achieve Kosovo's freedom and independence.
One of the most irresponsible and harmful acts the dismissed government has committed has been damage to reports with our strategic partners. Kosovo's close relations with the United States are essential to our state interests.
Strong friendship is also the clear and sincere will of our people, who in many international polls, for years, rank as the most pro-American people in the world. Therefore, it is imperative that all state institutions, engage as quickly as possible, recover and consolidate these vital bilateral reports with our allies”
