For some females, menstruation is regular and precise as clocks, while for others it is unpredictable and may come unexpectedly. Sometimes they don't even come! But that doesn't necessarily mean you're pregnant. The common causes of irregular menstruation range from hormonal boils to serious medical matters.

Is this situation normal?

There are two moments in a woman's life when it is normal to have irregular menstruation - puberty and early menopause. On average, most women have menstruation every 28 days. But a menstrual cycle in a healthy woman can last from 21 to 35 days. In addition to puberty, menopaus, and pregnancy, lost menstruation can be an indication of health problems.

Is it possible to delay menstruation for a month?

Yes, you may even have a lack of menstruation for a month. The factors affecting stress, lower body weight, weight gain, policy ovaries syndrome (PCOS), the use of contraception pills, certain chronic diseases, early phinnopause and thyroid diseases.

What, though, are the factors that cause a delay or a lack of menstruation?

Stress. Stress is one of the most frequent reasons that can result in a hormone imbalance and even affect the hypothalamus part of your brain that helps regulate your period. It can also cause sudden loss or gain of weight or other diseases. Stress can arise from many factors, such as travel, professional issues, social relations, emotional problems, financial issues, etc.

Low body weight. Low body weight is also a possible reason. Women with eating disorders including bulimia or anorexia nervosa may lack menstruation. If the weight of your body is below 10 percent of the normal interval for your length, then this could cause a halt to the process of ovulation, due to hormonal changes.

Added physical activity. Athletes and those who exercise intensive physical activity or who participate in extreme forms of training such as marathons can also experience menstrual disorders.

Obensity. Similarly to low body weight, obesity can also result in hormonal changes, leading to a lack of menstruation.

Police ovary syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a condition in which the body produces more Androgen hormones than normal. Because of this hormonal imbalance, cystees are formed into ovaries, making ovulation irregular or stopping it completely. This turns out to be a middle-class loss.

Use of contraception. Using contraceptive pills to prevent unwanted pregnancies can result in changes in the menstrual cycle. Other types of hormonal contraceptives that are injected or implanted can also cause a lack of menstruation.

Chronic disease and drug use. Some chronic diseases such as celliac and diabetes can also affect your cycle. Changes in blood sugar can cause hormonal changes, and uncontrolled diabetes can cause irregular cycles. The cellic disease causes inflammation in the intensive lesion and prevents the body, absorb vital nutrients. This may also cause delayed menstruation. Some women experience menstruation loss because of medications such as depression, antipsychotics, chemotherapy drugs, and medications to treat hypertension.

Thyroid gland: The thyroid gland regulates body metabolism, affecting many processes in the organism. The hypoactive or hyperactive thyroid affects hormone levels and therefore the menstrual cycle.
