MPs: The criteria for visas, justice institutions have been met to be independent

The Commission for European Integration has discussed the fulfillment of Kosovo's obligations, the visa liberalisation process, and has reviewed the European Integration Ministry's report concerning Kosovo's financing from the EU in fighting COVID-19. Commission Chairman Armend Zemaj has said the criteria for visa liberalisation have also been met [...]

Commission Chairman Armend Zemaj has said the criteria for visa liberalisation have been met, he also said the Special Prosecution has filed 5 acts since January. He has said the veto process should continue.

The “has been a long time when Kosovo and the EU have begun dialogue on visa liberalisation. The European Commission has confirmed that Kosovo has met the criteria, but this has not yet confirmed the EU council. Based on the report we have here from January to January, the Special Prosecution has filed 5 counts of”.

Our interest is to be equipped with accurate information. Fighting crime and corruption is now considered measurable and should not suffer Kosovo for these criteria. We put the report with the Prosecutorial Council into the work plan, and the criteria are that it is fulfilled because it is a fact accepted by European institutions. 63 cases are targeted and 17 cases are all-powerful and they have ended, 23 cases are in the trial phase. The vetting process, I think, should continue”.

Zemaj has said he has asked the Ministry of European Integration to bring the report on EU approval of funding at this time, but he said such a report the ministry still does not have ready.

“We have requested report from the Ministry of Integration to see the EU's approval of funding, so I consider that this point to remain under consideration because we do not have the report. The Ministry's response has been that time has been too short to prepare the report”.

Victory Pacolli from the VV has said the biggest mistake has been made by opposition parties by bringing down a democratic government.

The EU Commission has recommended that Kosovo has met the criteria. We have found that states decide in accordance with their beliefs. We have no developed system that should fight corruption and organised crime”.

The other “abim is that MPs have made and opposition parties have toppled the most democratic government in Kosovo. Technically, the commission has done the job, but we need to change the perception of member states”.

If we call for technical aspects and establish a non-democratic government is not done because if we want visa liberalisation, then democratic governments and not corrupt people” are needed, Pacolli has added, EO reports.

While PDK deputy Blerta Deliu-Codra has said she must encourage justice institutions to do her job.

Deliu-Codra has said the constitutional decision is expected during these days, but she has said she must be careful how to address these institutions because they are independent.

It is strange that we speak on behalf of EU states and that it is good to maintain the integrity of this commission. Ours is to encourage the institutions of justice to carry out their own work. On the day when we are awaiting a decision by the Constitution, we must be careful how we are addressing these institutions because they are independent”, Deliu-Codra said, EO reports.

It's unfair that we say here we haven't carried out the criteria and it's a pity that on this commission MPs say that Kosovo has not fulfilled and that EU states have not voted for their political reasons”.

“As for governments over the years we have toppled government and it is not considered that governments should be held in the government for visa liberalisation”.
