Acting Health Minister Arben Vitita has thanked Turkey's state for providing assistance under the fight of COVID-19.
This event shows solidarity and friendship under the battle with COVID-19 in Kosovo. Today we have received considerable help from the Turkish people to cope more easily with COVID-19. I thank friends now that they have given aid to the people of Kosovo”, he said.
In the first four weeks, Minister Vitita confirmed that they have faced lack of health supplies. However, he said that today thanks to the government's aid and measures in office, they have a situation in check.
Turkey's Ambassador to Pristina, Chagri Sarkar, said aid for Kosovo has been launched at the request of President Recep Tayip Erdogan.
In March, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has sought to help the people of Kosovo. On March 19th, a phone call was carried out, while the grant agreement was signed on March 20th. We are happy that we have had the opportunity to respond positively to Kosovo in these difficult days”, Ambassador Sarkar said.
Thankful to this donation was incumbent Infrastructure Minister Lumir Abdixhiku said as he announced he would organise a flight for citizens who remain in Turkey.
