The highest religious body of Saudi Arabia has urged Muslims worldwide not to gather for prayer during the holy month of Ramadan, in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, reports the BBC.
The High Council of Erudite said Muslims should avoid gatherings because they are the main cause of spreading the” infection, reports the state-controlled Saudi Press Agency.
Saudi Arabia, in multitude of Sunette, has closed its mosques, including the Great Mosque in Mecca as part of measures against the spread of the new coronary.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Leader of Iran ruled by the Shiites, Ayatolah Khamenei, has said Muslims are not required to fast during Ramadan if such action poses a threat to their health.
