Rihanna is joining the chief on Twitter Jack Dorsey to help a vulnerable segment of the population survivors of domestic abuse.
The 32-year-old artist announced a joint funding effort between the Clara Leonel Foundation founded by Rihanna in 2012, éhanna and Dorsey, 43, to address the major riots of domestic violence that have occurred in Los Angeles since the spread of the coronary, broadcast Indexline.
According to the Los Angeles Housing Authority, nearly 90 people a week have left the home of domestic violence after the command “Safer at Home” entered into force at the end of March.
The combined funding 4.2m dollars “will provide 10 weeks of support, including housing, food and advice for individuals and their children suffering from domestic violence at a time when shelters are complete and incidents are on the rise,” for a press release.
“Family violence victims exist worldwide, so this is only the beginning,”, also said in the statement. Rihanna has already donated $5m to help fight the pandemic, and Dorsey announced he will donate $1 billion of his capital, nearly a third of its net value to the Coronavirus fight.
