These two months were much heavier than I imagined. I was about to die when I got sick. I think I've woken up from death”, Matia has declared.
Maestri had a high fever on February 17th, as the Republica reports, having to drive by ambulance to the hospital. The doctors found out that the patient had suffered lung combustion, which was described as antibiotic, and was advised to return home.
After two days, however, his condition only deteriorated, so he was again forced to go to the hospital. There doctors told her that her lungs have been severely infected.
Nobody knew what was happening to him until an anesthesiologist remembered to take COVID-19 test. At the time, no case was reported in Europe.
They put her to sleep in Kolonia and then sent her to the Paris Hospital, where she was awakened from a coma in 20 days.
I've been in a coma watching death in my own eyes, but now I see the sun”, described the most critical moment patient zero.
