Mayors respond sharply: New anti-contour measures were taken without consulting us

In response sent to Health Minister (MSH) Arben Vitita and MAPL Minister Emilia Rexhepi, signed by AKK Deputy Chairman Xhafer Gashi, says:

“Mbrame, dated April 13th 2020, at the greatest request of all the mayors of the municipalities heard new anti-Condivus 19 measures. In your appearance and Mrs. Rexhepi was stressed that these measures, thought to be implemented by April 15, 2020, were consulted by the 38 municipalities in Kosovo.

I, after Taj and Minister Rexhepi's statement, have consulted with my fellow mayors and all have told me that none of the municipalities, which you mentioned in your statements, have consulted with the municipalities, and there has been no process of consulting the municipalities for these measures. So, at the request of Kosovo Republic of Kosovo Mayors, as deputy head of the Kosovo Communists Association, we think that your statement and Minister Rexhepi that municipalities have consulted new anti- anti-movation measures. - CO VID 19 are inaccurate and that such a statement has awakened an indignation and anger among my colleagues - the mayors.

On the other hand, these measures have immediately begun to cause chaos and tollow both in municipalities and other public places, and in some form are effective in the struggle to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

The mayors' reaction comes as a result that you stated that in the process of drafting these measures, so to repeat, the measures that will be taken by April 15, 2020, at any moment the municipalities have not consulted. Even worse, when all mayors have expressed full readiness for co-operation since the first day and that this readiness at this moment has been completely overlooked.

It's amazing how on this very day you introduced the new anti-action measures. - CO VID 19, on that same day and the day ahead, Monday and Sunday, April 12, 2020, the municipalities adopted decisions by other rules from the measures presented in the evening.

Mayors stress that this is the non-sens how the rules can be changed overnight. It should be noted that all the mayors of the municipalities with municipal representatives and through municipal emergency headquarters are facing directly the problems of citizens concerning COVID-19 and that municipalities are on the front lines facing the fight against the spread of COVID 19.

We've been expecting more open cooperation from your side and Minister Mrs. Rexhepi because we have stretched out the hand of co-operation from the beginning, but in this case, the mayors think they've been completely out of hand and not consulted in making the decision on new measures against - CO VID 19 to be implemented by April 15, 2020

We are confident that co-operation with municipalities in the future will not be like in last night's decisions, and we hope that Kosovo will overcome this situation as easily as possible. However, we appreciate that to overcome the situation as easily as co-ordination and co-operation with municipalities must be honest”.
