KFOR today has donated personal protection equipment against COVID-19 to Mitrovica in the north and south.
Commander of East Regional Command, KFOR, led by the US-led Colonel Eric Riley, accompanied by his medical personnel, donated 4,000 non-sterile gloves, 200 sterile gloves, 20 boxes of N95 masks, 350 masks for patients, 100 clothes for patients, 54 bottles of nylons, as well as other sanitation supplies for northern Mitrovica chairman Gorankiq and south chairman Agim Bahtiri to fight COVI-19.
According to a KFOR communique, the official for controlling the infection of the East Regional Command in KFOR, Major Denise Simon, said that the donation of personal protection equipment is important for medical workers to effectively respond to COVID-19 cases.
KFOR says it has implemented cautionary measures based on the recommendation of the World Health Organisation in order to reduce the risks associated with COVID-19 for its staff and for Kosovo communities.
The Regional Commander East of KFOR stands with our NATO partners and all those affected by the crisis,” said Colonel Riley.
“We are taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by continuing our mission to ensure a safe environment for the people of Kosovo, in line with KFOR's mandate, as defined by Resolution 1244”, the communiqué reported.
