China reported on Thursday fewer cases of coronary involving foreign travelers, but broadcast infections in the country increased, with the Chinese capital seeing new local cases for the first time in more than three weeks.
New imported cases dropped to 34 on Wednesday from 36 days ago, the National Health Commission said, amid strict border controls and lowering international flights, Reuters reports, broadcast news.
But the number of broadcast infections in the country rose to 12 out of 10 from the previous day, with the city of Beijing seeing three new local cases for the first time since 23 March.
The other new local cases Wednesday were in the provinces of Heilgiang and Guangdong, both have been struggling with an influx of foreign-infected travelers, mainly Chinese nationals returning from abroad.
In general, mainland China reported 46 new cases confirmed Wednesday, the same as the day before, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 82,341, broadcast news.
Hejlongiang saw 16 new imported cases, all Chinese citizens coming from Russia. The province has become a first line in China's war to keep out imported cases as infected Chinese citizens return to land from Russia.
Inner Mongolia's autonomous neighbouring region also without cases imported from Russia
