Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti, commenting on MSA's decision in co-operation with the Pristina municipality to limit movement across Pristina squares, says it has resulted from disrespecting citizens' calls not to go out unnecessarily.
Ahmeti writes on Facebook:
Calls not to leave without need are not being respected by the citizens. The less the weather is getting better. Additional security measures are necessary.
At this stage, squares cannot be used as walking spaces! The Ministry of Health in co-operation with the Pristina municipality and other relevant institutions have been co-ordinated and agreed to restrict walks across the squares.
We thank the Kosovo Police for the quick move, limiting movements in the squares. Only necessary corridors remain open.
To save yourself, family, and public health ♪stands!
