In an interview for “Brown Daily Helicard”, following a lecture at Brown University in Providence of Rhode Island, Jahjaga had said in October last year that “Kosovo was briefly involved in civil war” prior to its choice in office, Koha.net reports.

In his speech, Jahjaga had said she fought gender stereotypes with her work in the Kosovo Police, proposing, among other things, that police women wear mini-skirts.
“Based on its service and integrity in the police force, Jahjaga was nominated to be Kosovo president in 2011. Within 24 hours, she was chosen.
