Kosovo's Assembly is holding the International Women's Day Assembly session.

The survivor of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo, Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman, has addressed the Kosovo Parliament on the occasion of International Women's Day.

Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman has been harsh in not supporting institutions and families against women raped during the war. She demanded that these cases be handled priorityally and that justice be established in the country. He said it would be the voice of all the surviving sex violence during the war, saying he would fight until the perpetrators of these crimes are punished, writes Periscope.

Kosovo's Heroin said that despite being said to be easy for the American husband, she recalled that her brother lives in Kosovo and lives with prejudice every day.

Periscopi brings Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman's full speech to the Kosovo Assembly:

Kosovo's “Law calls us victims, we are survivors. You know, I've had a chance to speak in different parts of the world, telling our truth. But I have never felt the way I feel here in Kosovo. I feel good knowing that there are members who help, I feel good where there are men who protect their wives for what happened to you. But I feel really bad knowing that family doesn't protect them, that they don't support them, they say words that I here cannot mention those words about what they're up against. Although word has come out of this folk that has hurt us many victims. Our country stigmatizes us, makes us feel no good girls, good sisters, good women, but good nannas. So where were you two years ago? Were you in the ceiling when your wife raped you in the rooms? And where did you get the courage to leave that woman with the kids? Where the boys were they didn't protect their mother when she was raped. They drove Mom out, keeping her at home because they didn't know their wife was being violated. Where were you when your seven-year-old life was violated and now what are you doing to make our lives easier? You must be ashamed of all of us, all of Kosovo society, for you are sacrificing us every day. We don't want anything from the state except justice. From our family we're going to want to protect us with support because what happened to us was a war crime and you weren't there to support us. We've heard a lot of people say that Vasfia is very easy because he has an American husband, I'm really proud that I have an American husband because he supports me on the mission that I've taken to fight for Kosovo's rights for what he did to us. But don't forget that my brother is here facing what people say, and he's trying to get me a better life and that other girls and women, the other mothers, have a better life, that he calls all sisters. We are doing a job that most of you cannot do for your daughter, sister, wife, and mother. But how do you have face when you know that your wife or daughter feels better and cheaper to go talk to an association about what happened to her in her life than to receive his support. This is terrible for all of Kosovo's society, especially for men who harm women today and that day with beatings, with torment as to what the enemy did to them during the war. You have to change that it's been over 20 years since we've had enough of you, but we can't bear what you've given us for 20 years. For the end of the day, I beg all deputies for Kosovo institutions that war crimes to take seriously, even the most seriously taken sentences, you've had enough years not to punish anyone in cases of rape. You know, I've missed the case, I've lost UNMIK to EULEX, but neither has the state done anything for me when it comes to justice. But I can't afford to fight the rest with justice, what I was denied. I do not want to know what will not happen to anyone who will help them with advice. Then I begged you to take these cases more seriously so we can gain justice.
