Sarajevo (Reuters) Slovenia's only nuclear power plant, Krsko (NEK), is not affected by the powerful earthquake that struck neighbouring Croatia early Sunday, but authorities said they were beginning to inspect systems and equipment as a normal preventative act.
“Central nuclear system continues to function with full power,” said Igor Sirz, director of the Slovenian Nuclear Security Administration, Periscope follows.
NEK is owned jointly by neighbouring Slovenia and Croatia, whose capital was shaken by a 5.3-sized earthquake that damaged buildings, shot many people in the street, buried vehicles in ruins and caused several fires.
