QKUK: First case in Kosovo at core center, patient saved life and disability

For the first time under the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo, Radiology Clinic has been implemented to remove blood conceived in the brain artery mechanically (M2 segment of the cerebeer media artery left) with the radiological method of minimal invasive neurointeritis.

The realisation of this method was done after investments in Stroke Center, staff training and acquisition of material that the USSKUK management has done, led by the general director of SKKKUK, Basri Sejdiu, and with support and support from the Ministry of Health.

The procedure was carried out without complications on the male patient aged 62, who had a steady hand and weakened right foot, after the procedure has quickly been returned to the movement of his right hand. Also, missing speech as a whole, and after 12 hours of procedure, the patient has begun to articulate voice and move freely with his feet.

This procedure was possible as a result of the planning, design, skills realised in the world and in Zagreb, Croatia, and co-operation between the Radiology Clinic, the Clinical Clinic of Neurology, Emergency Clinic and Anesthesiology Clinic.

Within 3 or 4 hours after the brain attack, the radio team, Bujar Gjikoli, Arben Kutlovci, backed by radiologists Agron Arifi, Ilir Beta, with the reference of the caretakers Rushi Jashar, Valbona Spanca and Milamim Krasniqi, with the assisting of rafi Bytyqi technicians, Ariana Neziri.

The Department of USKKKU's office says the Radiology Clinic is equipped with materials to meet the needs of patients with heart attacks.

It's working on building capacities for their realisation, and in the process it's also about buying an advanced angography to support these procedures at a contemporary level.
