Aston Willlas legend Gordon Cowans issued a statement confirming that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 61.
He was the lead player in the match when he set up the European Cup in 1982.
The elegant midfielder won four grand trophies, including the Old First Catagoria Championship, League Cup, and Super Cup U EFA, as well as the historic triumph of the European Cup at Villa, writes Periscope.
In the statement he wrote: “Dear friends and supporters.
“In an attempt to stop speculation and disinformations about my health, I have decided to leave the following statement.
After a series of last tests, I was diagnosed with the early beginning of Alzheimer's disease.
