These days that most of Europe's population is isolated at home have greatly increased the number of television users or film shows like Netflix.
Netflix will take new actions to reduce the quality of transmission in Europe after a conversation between European Union Commissioner Thierry Breton and CEO Reed Hastings, the company announced on Thursday.
We predict that this decision will reduce Netflix trafficking in European networks by 25% and maintain the quality of service level for our members,” said a Netflix spokesman in a press release.
European officials were concerned about the internet not to end up in a wide collapse.
Netflix already uses an adaptive transmission tool that automatically regulates the quality of the video.
The platform will determine which quality of transmission is best for the viewer in an effort to ensure that the film you are watching is not blocked but transmitted to a lower quality.
