It's only been a month since Kurti Government started working. It took 30 days to see many family work and comfort from militants along this government. Although the state occupation was one of Albin Kurt's vows before taking over the prime minister's post, the practice showed otherwise. It was Defence Minister Anton Quinn who admitted yesterday that he had settled his brother Albert Quinn in his cabinet.
This is just one of the nepotism employment that has been done by Kurti Government this month. In the employment order, VV activists were not left unattended, where the Sunriza Arifi, Father and Arifi's sister, Vetevendosje Movement activist, has been appointed assistant minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of Forestry and Rural Development, Imri Demelez. Besides, Arifi in Kurti government has also been accommodated by Vetevendosje MP Sali Zyba's son.
Drilon Zyba has been appointed personal assistant to Economy, Employment, Industry and Strategic Investments Minister Roseta Hajdari, the minister coming from the Vetevendosje Movement.
One country in the government has also provided Sami Uka, the MP's brother, Fitim Uka, who has been employed as health minister's adviser, Arben Vitita. This order of party appointments is joined by a relative of Deputy Interior Minister Jelal Svechla, Gezim Svechla.
Svechla has been employed as the second deputy prime minister of Kurti Government, Hakki Abazi. Ehat Miftaraj from IKD told Periscope that family employment is clouding the goal of good governance, and at the same time losing public confidence in public institutions.
The “government Kurti and the ruling VV and LDK coalition before the public have promoted transparency, good governance and rule of law. Under good governance, there is no doubt the employment and appointment of political staff from among individuals with integrity, professional and who get public confidence that the same will exercise competencies and responsibilities under the law. Family employment, even in political positions or which there is no need for competition, certainly fades the goal of good governance, and loses public confidence in public institutions”, Miftaraj told Periscope. He has stressed that nepotism is cancer in public administration, where at the same time it also sends a very bad message to opinion.
“Nepotism is cancer in public administration and sends the worst message to ordinary citizens that you can only come to a job if you're a policy worker or you're involved with political parties”, has added Miftaj/Periscopi/
