The workers of Great Britain, who cannot do their jobs as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, will have up to 80 percent of their government-covered wages, so Treasury Secretary Rich Sunak announced during the presentation of measures to ease effects from the pandemic.
The government will support the workers by paying up to 80 per cent of their salaries and up to 2,500 pounds per month to prevent companies struggling to pay salaries to give up on people.
The move comes after Sunnak announced a $400 billion stimuli package in aid to hard-hit small businesses.
Also, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has ordered all cafes, bars, restaurants and bars across Great Britain to close, as well as to propose changes for the nightclubs, gyms and sports centres affected as well.
Business interruption loans will also be without interest for 12 months and not six months as previously stated.
